The cause of actor Bert Belasco’s death has been discovered
A coroner verified to Fox News on Tuesday that the actor, best known for his part in the BET series “Let’s Stay Together,” died of “hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.”
The cause of his death was classified as natural
Belasco was discovered dead in a hotel room in Virginia in November when a staff member checked on his room, according to his father, Bert Belasco Sr. He was 38 years old at the time.
The actor was in the midst of a two-week quarantine in preparation for a prospective film part.
Belasco Sr. claimed his son died of an aneurysm at the time of his death.
He told TMZ again this week that his death was caused by an aortic aneurysm, saying the coroner informed the family.
The Henrico Police Department rushed to a hotel for a medical emergency in November, according to local news site ABC 8 News.
When Belasco’s loved ones couldn’t reach him, hotel staff received a call to check on him.
He was pronounced dead at the site when first responders arrived, according to the outlet.
Belasco has also appeared in films such as “I’m Dying Up Here,” “The Mick,” “Pitch,” “Key and Peele,” and “Justified.”
According to TMZ, the actor’s alma institution, Southern Illinois University, will honour him.
The school intends to establish a scholarship fund and a theatre award in his honour.
According to the article, the facility’s rehearsal/dance studio will also be called The Bert Belasco Studio.
