Cheryl Ladd, star of Charlie’s Angels, comments on her friendship with Jaclyn Smith and her unwavering faith in God.
According to Fox News, the actress and her former co-star Jaclyn Smith are still great friends.
Cheryl Ladd acquired her wings and a decades-long relationship when she joined the ensemble of “Charlie’s Angels
The 69-year-old added, “We see each other all the time.” “When I’m in LA, I see her all the time.
We eat lunch and hang out. We talk on the phone all the time. We were great friends in the end. Friendships that last a lifetime”
“It’s really funny because when you do something so special, so iconic, and you’re in it when it’s massive – it’s something you can explain to people,” she continued, “but it’s different until you’ve done it.”
“We often reflect on how wild that time was. We had to go in through the back entrance of restaurants.
We had no idea how much people would enjoy the show. It was fantastic, but it was also dangerous “”‘ ‘
In 1977, Ladd was cast in the legendary series as Kris Munroe, which aired until 1981.
Smith, as well as David Doyle, Kate Jackson, and Farrah Fawcett, appeared in the show, which followed the exploits of a stylish detective agency.
Aaron Spelling chose Ladd to play Fawcett’s younger sister, but she first declined the part.
But after enough persuasion, she decided to go for it – a decision she still cherishes.
“It was a nerve-wracking experience!” Ladd acknowledged his role in “Charlie’s Angels.”
“Because Farrah was the focus of the year and season,” she explained.
“I think it was shocking for her followers and everyone who loved the programme when Farrah decided to leave the show [in 1980].”
Ladd stated that she was adamant about breaking the ice.
“I wore a t-shirt that said ‘Farrah Fawcett Minor’ on my first day on the job since she was ‘Farrah Fawcett Majors,'” Ladd remarked. “Everyone was giggling.
I quickly made a large number of pals. I began to work, hoping that Kris Munroe’s character would be amusing and eccentric.
I wanted her to be someone for whom people could cheer. When the ratings increased that season, I was overjoyed.”
Despite her Hollywood success, Ladd maintains that her faith in God has always been important in her life.
“It’s been everything,” she remarked. “As a little girl, I knew who I was.
I’d climb to the top of the tree and spend all of my time talking to God. It’s been an unusual journey — there’s been a lot of good, a lot of bumps, a lot of difficult, learning experiences.
The entire time, He [God] was with me. He causes us to trip in order for us to remember that he is in charge.
That, I believe, is a good thing, especially while we are young! When we aren’t thinking things through completely.”
Ladd has lately spoken up about how she lost her focus – literally. The actress found out she had cataracts that were becoming worse.
Ladd has been open about her better vision, which she attributes to cataract surgery, in honour of Cataract Awareness Month. PanOptix® Lens was her personal choice.
Ladd remembered, “I first saw it when I was travelling at night.” “Cars are speeding at me.
The lights were really hazy. I couldn’t tell how far away the cars were from me. That terrified me a lot.
Even with the readers I was using at the time, I was having trouble reading. For me, that was a huge wake-up call.”
Addressing her health issue was “exciting and a little nerve-wracking,” according to Ladd. She, on the other hand, was eager to get on with her life.
“I felt a lot better after talking to my doctor about it and fully understanding what the process entailed,” she added.
“… It was nothing like what any of us had imagined eye surgery to be like. After that, I was able to unwind. I was eager to get it fixed.”
“In fact, after the surgery, we went out to dinner,” she added.
While Hollywood was forced to take a break in 2020 owing to the coronavirus outbreak, Ladd stated the extra free time allowed her to spend more time with her grandchildren.
She described FaceTime as “simply so much fun.” “I believe it’s fantastic, especially with COVID.
Even if our grandchildren aren’t physically present, we can be with them. We can laugh, speak and play music.
They would demonstrate new dances to [my husband and me]. It was a fantastic asset to have, especially in the event of a pandemic.”
“Life is such a wonderful gift,” Ladd said. “You do learn something new every day.
You learn certain things and wish you didn’t have to learn others. However, every now and then, you have incredible experiences that make your heart sing. It’s all because of God.”
