Chrissy Rouse, a rider competing in the British Superbike Championship, passed away as a result of an accident that occurred over the weekend at Donington Park.

On Thursday afternoon, event organisers said that the 26-year-old “passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family in hospital.”

During the first lap of Sunday’s race, a rider who was following the Newcastle rider was unable to avoid colliding with him, which resulted in the Newcastle rider sustaining serious injuries to his head.

Rouse received medical attention at the scene of the accident, and then he was transported to the medical centre of the racetrack, where he was put under medically induced sedation.

Later on, he underwent a last-minute operation for his neurological condition at a hospital in Nottingham.

The organiser of the race, MSVR, has stated that an investigation into the incident is currently being conducted in conjunction with the police, the coroner, and the Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board.

In his first year competing in the British Superbike Championship, Rouse rode for Crowe Performance BMW, the same team that he had previously competed for and won the national superstock championship with in 2020.
In addition to that, he held a qualification in the field of mathematics education.

Pay Tribute to Chrissy on social media

Chrissy Rouse Died: Tarran Mackenzie, Glenn Irwin, and Peter Hickman, three of his fellow competitors in the British Superbikes championship, are just a few of the well-known British bike racers who have expressed their condolences and paid tribute.

Mackenzie tweeted: “This sport can be extremely brutal at times. Outstandingly talented in a wide variety of areas, and without a doubt one of the nicest people to ever set foot in the paddock. Chrissy, may you rest in peace.”

Irwin, who is currently in second place in the standings, referred to him as a “truly talented person” who was “always smiling,” and Hickman said that it was a “pleasure to know you and share a track with you, champ.”

The news of Rouse’s passing came on the same day that British motorcycle racing suffered another devastating loss: the sport’s most successful racer ever.

According to his son, Phil Read MBE passed away calmly and quietly while he was sleeping at the age of 83.

Read was the world champion in the 125cc, 250cc, and 500cc classes during the 1960s and 1970s. He won a total of 52 grand prix during that time period. In addition to that, he was victorious in the Isle of Man TT races an astounding eight times.

“MSVR is now working with the Coroner, Police and the Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board in order to investigate the full circumstances of this tragic accident.

Chrissy’s family, friends, and teammates have our condolences.

Before stepping up to the Superbike class in 2022, Rouse became the 2020 National Superstock Champion, and before that he won 10 races on his way to the title in the 2013 Triumph Triple Challenge. Chrissy was 26.
