Eliud Kipchoge, a Kenyan long distance runner, competes in the marathon. He was originally trained in the 5,000-meter race. He was born November 9, 1984.

Kipchoge won the junior race at World Cross Country Championships 2003 and his first individual world championship. He also set a new junior world record for the track’s distance of 5000m, earning him his first overall world championship.

At only 18 years old, he won the senior 5000-meter championship at the 2003 World Championships. This set a new record for championships. He won an Olympic bronze medal for Kenya in 2004 as well as a bronze medal at 2006 World Indoor Championships.

Kipchoge was in the finals of a 5000-meter race at World Championships five years ago. He has also won silver medals in 2007 World Championships and 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Eliud Career Life

After competing in the Kenyan trials in 2002, Kipchoge won the junior race at 2002 IAAF World Cross Country Championships. Kipchoge finished fifth in the individual competition at World Cross Country Championships in Dublin. He was also a member the Kenyan junior team which won the gold medal. Kipchoge won the 5,000-meter run in Kenya’s trial for the World Junior Championships in Athletics in 2002. However, he was unwell prior to the competition. He won the IAAF World Cross Country Championships 2003 Junior Division.

He ran the 5000m in 12 minutes 52.61 seconds at the Bislett Games 2003. This was enough time to set a new junior world record. This time was the African and world junior record. It was broken by Hagos Gebrhiwet of Ethiopia, who ran it in 12 minutes 47.53 seconds.

In 2006, Kipchoge participated in the indoor 3000 meter race at the World Championships in Moscow and won the bronze medal.

Kipchoge’s win in the New Year’s Eve 10 km road race at San Silvestre Vallecana took 26 minutes 54 seconds, which was 40 seconds quicker than his course record. This event was held at the end of the year. This time was faster than the previous 10 kilometer track record, despite it being run on a downhill course.

Eliud’s private life

Kipchoge was born on November 5, 1984 in Kapsisiywa in Nandi County in Kenya. He did not consider running a serious hobby or a career at the time, even though he attended Kaptel School in Nandi County for his secondary education in 1999.

He walked two miles to school every morning. His mother was a teacher and Kipchoge was raised by her. He didn’t see his father in person, all he knew was photos. Eliud is the youngest child in the family. He was 16 years of age when Patrick Sang, his former Olympic steeplechaser champion, introduced him to Patrick Sang.

Kipchoge, his wife and their three children live in Eldoret in Kenya. Eldoret, which is located in Kenya, is only 30 km (19 miles) away from Kipchoge’s Kaptagat home.
