Cuchillos on My Block: the major adversary of Season 3 of On My Block, appears to have died, although there is conjecture that the murder was staged. This is why.
Cuchillos, the sadist leader of On My Back Santos
Cuchillos, the sadistic leader of the Santos, was introduced in season 3 of On My Block, but he didn’t make it out alive. Despite the fact that Ada Luz Pla’s character appeared to be deceased, there is considerable conjecture that she isn’t really dead. Here’s how Cuchillos might make an appearance in Season 4 of the Netflix series, as well as how it might tie into a larger storyline.
Monse, Cesar, Jamal, and Ruby were kidnapped and put into a mystery van in the last minutes of On My Block season 2. By introducing Cuchillos, On My Block lost no time in revealing who orchestrated the kidnapping.
Cesar recognised she was the boss of the Santos, the gang he had previously attempted to flee. The group was compelled to comply with her requests in order to find Lil Ricky, who Cuchillos believed was still alive.
Cuchillos proved to be highly dangerous if they didn’t meet her requests in a timely manner, despite her offering the Roller World money in exchange.
Cuchillos was the brains behind the Roller World theft, and she intended to find Lil Ricky so she could kill him personally, according to what was revealed during season 3 of On My Block.
As Cesar’s brother, Spooky, rose through the ranks of the Santos, he became increasingly concerned about the rival gang, 19th Street. He then recognised that Cuchillos was the reason his father was imprisoned, so he tried to work out a deal with 19th Street to get her out of jail.
They kept their word, and Cuchillos was slain by 19th Street. Before members of 19th Street set fire to her remains, the core four saw her body in a shallow grave.
The idea of Cuchillos faking her death inspired co-creator Jeremy Haft (via Hollywood Life) “another idea for season 4 that we hadn’t thought of.” Despite the fact that it doesn’t appear reasonable given what was presented, On My Block may have a few tricks up its sleeve.
Why Would Cuchillos Fake Her Death?
If Cuchillos did devise a complex scheme to fake her death, the main question would be why she did it. Spooky was set up by Cuchillos and her minions, but they appeared to be siding with him. If the death was staged, she must have been in contact with 19th Street the entire time.
In that situation, Cuchillos would have to be pursuing some sort of broader goal. It’s possible that total control of the Santos and 19th Street will be achieved.
Perhaps she wanted the core four to see her “body” in order for word of her death to spread. She’d be able to tug the strings from the shadows without causing issue from folks like Spooky.
If Cuchillos is still alive, it wouldn’t be the first time a character in On My Block has faked their death. Spooky and Jamal realised Lil Ricky’s grave was empty when searching for him.
He was thought to be dead, but that didn’t appear to be the case any more. Cuchillos’ involvement in the Lil Ricky mystery could pave the way for her comeback to the series. If the television landscape has taught us anything, it’s that not everything is as it seems.
