Omni-Man vs Superman from Invincible are two super-powered aliens that could destroy entire worlds if they wanted to, but who is the stronger? Omni-Man is a ruthless warrior who prefers to be covered in the blood rather than clothing. On the other hand, Superman is the most powerful being ever, with almost no worthy rivals.
Image Comics used the concept of an ultra-powerful alien like Superman and created a comic about what such a being would do to weaken humanity. Omni-Man is a Viltrumite sent to Earth to conquer it and use it as a breeding ground for the Viltrumite Empire, a Spartan-like tribe of super-strong aliens with thousand-year lifespans and near-invulnerability, as shown in Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley’s Invincible. Omni-Man, like Superman, has super strength, super speed, and the ability to fly. However, DC Comics’ flagship hero possesses nearly every power and strength, with no apparent upper limit. Omni-Man begins Invincible as a violent conqueror with no compassion for helpless humans, razing entire cities and slaughtering tens of thousands of people in the name of proving to his son, Invincible, that humanity is inferior to the Viltrumites. Omni-Man kills Invincible’s version of the Justice League with no remorse and only stops killing his son after understanding he cares for his family.
Omni-Man would later betray the Viltrumite Empire, and the three of them were able to fly through the middle of their home planet and destroy the Viltrumite Empire with the help of his son and another Viltrumite defector.
Omni-Man has proven a desire to slay anyone who stands in his path, a far cry from the noble Superman, who keeps his strength hidden. The only thing keeping Superman’s adversaries from dissolving to bloody mush under one of his strikes or disintegrating in his solar vision is his restraint.
That isn’t to say that Superman hasn’t gotten his hands filthy, as he has murdered a few adversaries. But when confronted with the seemingly indestructible Omni-Man, will he hold back?
Superman probably has Omni-Man beat in terms of raw strength. Every foe Omni-Man came into touch with was pierced by his punches. He defeated several Viltrumites before falling to Viltrum Emperor Thread. Despite being half-Earthling, Omni-son, Man’s Invincible, has hinted that he may be stronger than his father. Omni-Man has battled many creatures, including aliens capable of injuring Viltrumites. Superman, on the other hand, is a very different storey.
Only Kryptonite, nuclear bombs, and magic can harm Superman. None of these are available to Omni-Man. Superman usually avoids murdering his foes, preferring to defeat and demoralize them instead (with limited long-term success).
Omni-Man, on the other hand, has no such reservations. He’d try to murder Superman outright, but he’d most likely break his fists against the invincible hero. Omni-Man is incredibly tough, but Superman’s entire might has never been put to the test. His strength is simply unfathomable. Superman could obliterate Omni-Man if he so desired. If Superman wanted to defeat Omni-Man, he’d have to go beyond his usual moral bounds, but if he didn’t, he’d beat the mustachioed powerhouse.
