Tawny Kitaen  passed away on May 7 at her home in Newport Beach, California. She was arguably most recognised for her part in “Bachelor Party.”

Kitaen died from dilated cardiomyopathy, a common type of heart disease, a spokesperson for the Orange County Coroner’s Office tells PEOPLE.

Her children Wynter and Raine Finley, who she had with her ex-husband, retired Major League Baseball player Chuck Finley, confirmed the news of the actress’s passing via Instagram.

Kitaen co-starred with Tom Hanks in the comedy “Bachelor Party” in 1984 as Hank’s future wife, and she also had an appearance as Jerry Seinfeld’s girlfriend in an episode of “Seinfeld” in 1991.

She also acted in films from the 1980s like “Crystal Heart” and “Witchboard.” Kitaen gained notoriety in the music sector as well. She starred in music videos and served as the band Ratt’s album cover model.

She appeared in several music videos, such as Whitesnake’s “Here I Go Again” and “Still of the Night” from the 1980s and Ratt’s “Back for More” from 1984.
