SACRAMENTO (California) — After the release of their tenth studio record, post-hardcore rock band Dance Gavin Dance scheduled to embark on a massive U.S. tour starting in Sacramento this spring. On April 13th, the band announced the sad news about veteran bassist Tim Feerick.

This was just days before the tour was due to start. Andrew Wells, a bandmate and friend, said that he was saddened by the loss of Tim Feerick. Wells stated that the band had discussed cancelling the tour to grieve.

Wells added, “I hope our supporters love us enough to recognize we could have canceled the tour.” Bernadette Alaniz, Feerick’s mother, claimed that she was the one who discovered her son’s death from a suspected overdose of fentanyl at his Sacramento apartment.

Alaniz stated, “When we couldn’t reach him one morning, we realized something wasn’t right.” “All I want to do is have him back.” After a conversation with Feerick’s mom, Dance Gavin Dance agreed that he would continue the tour in his memory.

“I’m certain Timothy wouldn’t want them sitting out, you know?” ABC10 was informed by Alaniz. “They were kind enough ask if it was okay with them. We agreed to take the tour. Sergio Medina was a long-time friend of Wells, Dance Gavin Dance and stepped in to play bass at short notice.
