Since its debut on YouTube’s premium channel, “Wayne”, in 2019, Wayne has been the ultimate underdog on and off the screen. The story centers on Wayne (Mark McKenna), a young man who is furious and embarks on a dangerous road trip with Del (Ciara Bravo), to retrieve his father’s Pontiac Trans-Am.

It’s a wild, vulgar adventure that feels like someone mixed John Green books with Dirty Harry – and it was a hit with fans. There were never enough fans. YouTube ended the market for scripted originals and “Wayne” was expelled.

In November 2020, Amazon Prime bought the streaming rights for Season 1. Since then, more people have been able to experience Wayne and Del’s incredible road trip and are eager for more.

Unfortunately, Amazon has not renewed “Wayne”, but the program is still available.

When will Wayne Season 2 be available on Amazon?

There is not information about a potential Season 2 because “Wayne” hasn’t been renewed. Even if Amazon purchased another season, it is likely that viewers will have to wait for new episodes. Since Season 1 was published in 2019, the cast has been involved with various projects.

For example, Mark McKenna has been cast in “One of Us Is Lying,” a Peacock original series. This series is currently in pre-production. Wayne is the only way to have a “Wayne,” so a second season of the series will need to wait until Wayne’s schedule is available.

McKenna could begin filming Season 2 of “Wayne” if “One of Us Is Lying” wraps up this year. This would give the next season a release date in summer 2022.

This assumes that Amazon purchases a second season before McKenna, and all the other actors move on to other projects.

Who will play Wayne in the second season?

Mark McKenna is essential to the survival of “Wayne”, so he will have to be back if there is a second season. DeLila is an important character, so Ciara Bravo should be included.

Dean Winters plays Del’s father Bobby; Jamie and Jon Champagne are Del’s twin brothers. Joshua J. Williams is Wayne’s friend Orlando and Mike O’Malley is Wayne’s school principal.

All of the main characters survived the first season, despite some brutal confrontations. This suggests that the majority of the original cast of Wayne should return, barring any scheduling issues.

A second season will undoubtedly bring in new characters, as Simmons left off Season 1 with a cliffhanger.

Inverse interviewed Simmons November 2020 to find out what the future holds for Wayne and Del. Simmons commented, “I don’t believe it’s overstated for Wayne’s in juvie.”

“Del’s in a position that I won’t get into but the entire season is about Wayne trying straight to earn back Del and find the peace and tranquility he needs.” Mark McKenna would love to see Season 2 come to fruition.

According to Inverse, he stated that the writing for Season 2’s first episode was “perhaps the greatest of the Wayne’ narratives I have read.” It would be… extremely beautiful if it were possible to create it.

Although “Wayne” has not aired any new episodes in 2019 since, viewers should not dismiss this slick sitcom. “Wayne,” the only show that can overcome the odds and make a comeback after such a long absence, is it?
