Christopher Fowler, best-known for his Bryant & May series of detective novels, passed away at 69 years old. His beloved presence in the industry left his family and friends grieving; it’s hard to comprehend that such an accomplished author could leave us all so deeply shocked.
For most of his career, readers eagerly anticipated each installment in his beloved Bryant & May series featuring veteran detectives solving unusual crimes throughout London from WWII until today.
Christopher Fowler’s series Full Dark House had an enormous fan base around the world and earned him tremendous respect and love from its viewers.
Starting with Full Dark House in 2003, 12 more novels followed before London Bridge Is Falling Down was published three years later in 2021.
Unfortunately, on Thursday March 2, 2023 his talented husband Pete confirmed his passing through Twitter account – three years after being diagnosed with cancer.

On Twitter, Fowler’s fan and partner in crime shared, “Christopher Robert Fowler: 3 Score & 10, 1953-2023 His sparkle, joy and sense of humor have gone but remain in my heart and work.
What an incredible person we shared. Goodbye to a beautiful man; his partner in crime; my soulmate.” Since news of Fowler’s passing spread on social media platforms, fans and loved ones have paid tribute to him by paying their respects and offering deep condolences to the family members facing this difficult time.
It is truly difficult for those left behind; we must remember those who lost loved ones during this difficult period for everyone affected.
He had a distinguished career in the British industry. Throughout his tenure, he wrote fifty novels and short-story collections – including his beloved Bryant & May mysteries series that follows two Golden Age detectives as they navigate modern-day London.
From 1984 until 2023, he continued creating works of fiction as an author; producing screenplays, video games, graphic novels, audio/stage plays as well.
Born in Greenwich London but living most recently in Barcelona and King’s Cross, London; no funeral or visitation arrangements have yet been announced, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time for his loved ones.
