What was Jerry Richardson death cause?

Jerome Johnson Richardson Sr. was born on July 18, 1936 in Spring Hope, North Carolina and completed his schooling there before entering Wofford College.

He earned the Associated Press Little All-American selection twice (1957 and ’58) and still holds the record for receiving yards against Newberry that season, along with touchdown receptions in a season.

On October 26th 1993 he became the first former player since George Halas to own an NFL franchise when the Carolina Panthers were awarded their 29th franchise; however he had to sell it due to allegations of sexual harassment by female employees that followed until 2018.

Additionally, Jerry Richardson’s statue was torn down by the Panthers after their current franchise owner informed fans it posed a safety hazard. At that time, several statues had already been torn down during demonstrations following George Floyd’s death.

David Tepper stated, “With the environment under attack, it only made sense to move that statue. I don’t believe things will ever quiet down; that’s for certain”. His family did not provide further details regarding their funeral plans; stay tuned to us for updates!
