What is The Identity Of Kaitlin Armstrong?
Armstrong was a yoga instructor and amateur biker. The 34-year-old was declared a global fugitive a week later. Wilson had dated Strickland, according to Cash Officers arrived at his home on May 12 to meet with him and noticed what seemed to be the SUV from the security film parked in the driveway.
According to the warrant filing, Strickland indicated that Armstrong owned the black 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee and that he never drove it. During a warrantless search on May 12, police uncovered 2 9mm handguns in Strickland’s home that he claimed he bought in December and January for officers: a Springfield Armory for himself and a Sig-Sauer for Armstrong.
When police told Armstrong later that day that the film, paired with information from her partner, didn’t bode well for her, the warrant stated that she “nodded her head up and down as if she agreed.” Armstrong, on the other hand, was free to go. She continued her journey until she arrived in Costa Rica.
According to the affidavit, a microscopic comparison of a shell case from ammunition test-fired from Armstrong’s Sig-Sauer and shell cases found alongside Wilson’s body revealed on May 17 that there was a “significant” probability that they came from the same gun. Later that day, authorities filed the arrest warrant with the Austin Municipal City Court.
Did Kaitlin Armstrong, Mo Wilson, and Colin Strickland Participate in a Love Triangle?
Strickland admitted to police that he and Wilson had an affair last fall while he was on a two-week break from his several-year relationship with Armstrong. In a statement, Wilson said he “returned to her home in California, and roughly one month later, Kaitlin Armstrong and I reconnected and restarted our relationship.
Since then, I’ve run into Mo at a number of cycling events, always in public. We maintained just platonic and professional touch after our brief relationship ended in October 2021.
“According to the criminal complaint, Strickland also informed investigators that he tried to hide his ongoing relationship with Wilson from Armstrong by retaining her phone number under a fictitious name and deleting their text messages. And he revealed to Armstrong that he lied about where he was on May 11 when he went to see Wilson.
How Did law Enforcement Discover Kaitlin Armstrong?
Kaitlin was caught by local authorities on June 29 at Don Jon’s Surf and Yoga Lodge on Santa Teresa Beach in Puntarenas Province, Costa Rica, after a 43-day manhunt. At a press conference on July 7, Deputy U.S. Marshal Brandon Filla noted, “It looks that she has returned to her pastime and profession, which is yoga.
We believe she was striving to acquire new yoga techniques in order to become a yoga instructor. After a confidential source informed authorities that Armstrong had departed the state, the case was taken up by the US Marshals-led Lone Star Fugitive task group.
According to a June 30 press release from the US Marshals Office announcing Armstrong’s arrest, task force members learned that Armstrong had sold her Jeep to a CarMax in Austin for $12,200 on May 13, the day after she was questioned by police. According to investigators, she then flew from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to Houston and then to New York’s LaGuardia Airport on May 14.
Armstrong was driven to Newark International Airport in New Jersey on May 18, but no tickets were issued in her name for any outgoing flights. On May 25, a federal arrest warrant for Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution was issued, elevating the inquiry to a serious case.
Where Currently is Kaitlin Armstrong?
Armstrong pleads not guilty to first-degree murder during her arraignment on July 20. She is still being held at the Travis County jail. The charge of fleeing to avoid prosecution has been dismissed. “This is a representation of the whole picture.
This is the beginning of a process that will, and should, take place in court “Following the hearing, her attorney, Rick Cofer, informed reporters. Furthermore, we are aware that there are questions that must be addressed, and we look forward to doing so.
We do, however, have a few questions of our own.” He called the events of the day “illuminating” and remarked, “Miss Armstrong wants her day in court.” The defence did, in fact, file a motion for a speedy trial. All parties are scheduled to return to court on October 19, with the trial beginning the following week.
A prosecutor voiced surprise at the defendant’s quickness, telling Fox 7: “I’m not sure what sort of privilege this defendant has to cut in front of all these people waiting for trial.”I am aware that [the defence] has not seen all of the evidence because we do not have all of the material to disclose to them,” he added.
Cofer informed reporters that the defence would be filing paperwork to challenge the investigation’s findings. “At this time, the only thing I can ask of the press is not to report anything law enforcement tells you as confirmed and correct.” Simply put, there is a lot more to this story than has been reported so far.”
