Basic V Neck Ruched Front Thong Bodysuit: A clothing company in the United Kingdom is facing backlash for a contentious garment that one lady described as causing her “the world’s worst front wedgie.”

The garment, described as a “Basic V Neck Ruched Front Thong Bodysuit” and available at Boohoo.com, was brought to the attention of Mumsnet on Sunday after one member claimed to have seen it crop up as an ad on her Facebook page.

“I understand the [bodysuit] trends, but surely this would result in being completely split in two, or the world’s worst front wedgie,” the woman said on Mumsnet.

Many commenters agreed or added their own jokes, including one who called the item a “monstrosity” and another who just said, “Ouch!”

Another said of the bodysuit, which comes in a number of colours, “Boohoo indeed” (although the white version appears to be the only one featuring the severe cut).

“Just looking at that crime against humanity makes my eyes water.”

One concurred, saying, “That is unsettling on so many levels.”

Someone else speculated, “She’s certainly wearing it sideways.”

Boohoo has recently sent Fox News an emailed comment about the fashion’s popularity, writing, “The bodysuit is in high demand, and the style in issue is swiftly selling out.

Boohoo [has] reacted to the trend by offering a diverse range of design alternatives in terms of colour, cut, and pattern, all of which are accessible in all sizes on the site.”

However, it’s worth mentioning that Boohoo isn’t the only firm facing criticism for its controversial styles.

A high-waisted swimsuit from Oh Polly, a U.K. company, caused ripples in the internet community in late January, with many criticising the exposed design.

Earlier that month, an Australian mommy blogger ridiculed an online merchant for its revealing bikini bottoms, later telling Fox News that she was “blown away” by the response from women who could identify.
