Browns DT Malik McDowell arrested: According to Broward County court records, Cleveland Browns defensive tackle Malik McDowell was arrested Monday in Deerfield Beach, Fla., on charges of public exposure, aggravated violence of an officer, and resisting arrest.
The Browns issued a statement saying, “We are aware of the very troubling incident and arrest involving Malik McDowell and are in the process of gathering further information.” “We recognise the gravity of the situation, and our prayers are with everyone concerned. At this time, we have no more comment.”

McDowell, 25, made his NFL debut in 2021 after being taken in the second round of the 2017 draught by the Seattle Seahawks. McDowell was injured in a car accident months after being picked by the Seahawks and spent his rookie season on the injured reserve list.
After repeated run-ins with the law, including a DUI and disorderly conduct, the Michigan State product was charged with assault, resisting arrest, and driving while intoxicated.
McDowell was released by Seattle in March of 2019 and was punished by the league for two games. Following his altercation with police, McDowell pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 11 months in prison later in 2019.
McDowell has 33 tackles, seven tackles for loss, five quarterback hits, three sacks, and a fumble recovery in 15 games and 14 starts for Cleveland in 2021.
At the start of the new league year in March, McDowell will be a free agent.
