During his life, Donald McEachin was not only a popular American lawyer, but also a United States Representative. As a politician, he represented Virginia’s fourth congressional district, which spans Richmond, Virginia to the North Carolina line. Before becoming a United States Representative, McEachin practiced law in Virginia. He graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1986. He then became a member of the Virginia State Bar and practiced law with McEachin and Gee law firm. In 1995, McEachin was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates.

McEachin was elected to the United States House of Representatives for the fourth time this month. His reelection was unopposed. He is currently serving on the House Committee on Natural Resources, as well as the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. He is also a co-chair of the House Democratic Environmental Message Team, also a member of the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association and the NAACP.

After his election to the US Congress, McEachin continued to work on behalf of the working people in Virginia. He championed gun control measures in the General Assembly, and he also helped to create the Offshore Wind Development Authority.
