Florida redshirt freshman Jalen kitna arrested on 30/11 ,Wednesday in Alachua County Jail on two counts for distribution of child exploitation materials and three counts for possession of child pornography based on his use the social media app Discord. Gainesville police confirmed this. Jalen kitna , 19-year-old Kitna is the son of Jon Kitna (15-year NFL) and is due to appear in court on Thursday. He was indefinitely suspended by the University Athletic Association.
Who Is Jalen Kitna
Despite his father’s football background, Jalen Kitna isn’t a traditional athlete. Instead, the redshirt freshman at Florida is a student studying advertising. The Gators recruited him in May 2020. He hasn’t played for the team. He was briefly substituted by Anthony Richardson in a 45-38 defeat to Florida State. Since then, he has been removed indefinitely from team.
Kitna (18) is the son Jon Kitna, an ex-NFL quarterback. He was a member of the Detroit Lions’, Dallas Cowboys’ and Cincinnati Bengals. In 2003, he was the Comeback Player-of-the Year. In 14 seasons, he threw for 30,000 yard and 169 touchdowns. Kitna also donated bout fees for colleges. Kitna enrolled at the University of Florida in the 2021 recruiting class.
Kitna is accused in sharing illegal images online prior to the season’s end. Kitna told police that he believed the images were legal online because he had found them online. He was taken into custody Wednesday and booked in the Alachua County Jail. His bond was set at $80,000. Kitna was not allowed to use the Internet after his arrest.
According to the arrest report the Gainesville Police department received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in June. They were informed by the Center that Kitna was using a Discord account to distribute child sexual abuse material.
Kitna was found to be the account’s owner after police investigated. Kitna admitted to police that his account was used to send inappropriate images to others. Kitna claimed that the images were his own creations, but police found that he was involved in discussions about child sexual abuse. Kitna was also accused in a Kik group of sharing child pornography.
Jalen Kitna Arrested
During a Wednesday court hearing, Jalen Kitna appeared agitated, alternately holding his head and clenching his fists. Kitna was dressed in a dark green sleeveless gown. He was also wearing a suicide prevention vest.
The 19-year-old was charged with five felony counts. He faces up to 45 years in prison. The charges are third-degree felonies. He is also slated to pay $35,000 in fines.
Kitna is accused of sharing two child pornographic images on a website called Discord. According to the Gainesville Police Department, one of the images was of a prepubescent girl. Another image was of a female exposing herself while a man had sex with her.
Kitna also told police he was in other chat rooms that distributed material of this nature. Kitna said he did not request the material and said he accidentally clicked on a link that he should have not. was also in possession of three more child sexual abuse images on his phone. The images were discovered during a preliminary analysis.
Gainesville Police Department detectives served a search warrant at Kitna’s home. They also seized Kitna’s electronic devices as part of the investigation.
Kitna’s first appearance in court was viewed by a closed-circuit video feed at the county courthouse. Kitna’s parents were also present. He was ordered not to contact minors, and he was prohibited from using the Internet for three years.
Kitna was not a classmate of the girl who posted the images on Discord. According to police, the girl had a cell phone number that belonged to Kitna’s father.
