Mike Clement, who has been the Black Sabbath guitarist’s right-hand man for over three decades, took a “serious tumble” at work. He, a longtime guitar technician for Tony Iommi, Tony Iommi, a longtime member of Black Sabbath, is in sadness at the passing of guitar tech Mike Clement, one of his closest friends. Mike Clement died on Monday (Nov. 28). Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi reaveled the death of his longtime guitar tech Mike Clement in a recent social media post.
Who Was Mike Clement?
Michael Clement was born in Knoxville, Tennessee. He graduated from Holston High School with a bachelor’s in political science. He went on to study law in Tennessee and Memphis State Law School.
He opened his own practice in Clinton, Tennessee, after he graduated, was also a Special Juvenile Court Judge in Anderson County. He was then appointed City Attorney for the City of Clinton.
Clement started working at SABBATH in 1990 and has been a key member of Iommi’s team for over three decades, worked as a guitarist technician and a lighting designer for many musicians. He worked with Roy Harper, WAH HEAT and Motrhead.
Mike Clement worked alongside Iommi as well as other musicians like Glenn Hughes, Roy Harper and WAH HEAT. In the late ’70s, he was a lighting designer for many musicians.
He was also a member the Goose Creek Consolidated ISD school boards and a youth minister at Central Baptist Church, Baytown, was also a coach for the Ole Miss Rebels. In 2002, he was elected to the North Central Conference All-Conference Team.
Mike Clement Died: Black Sabbath guitarist
Mike Clement, a long-time Black Sabbath guitarist, has died. Tony Iommi, a long-time colleague of Clement’s for more than thirty years, announced the news.
Clement was put in an induced state earlier this year following a workplace fall. Iommi shared a shocking update about his condition on social media, which shocked many of his coworkers.
Many thought his condition was manageable. Clement’s condition deteriorated to the point that no treatment was possible. Mike Clement passed away from an undetermined cause.
However, doctors believe that he was suffering from acute Leukemia for some time. He was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and showed great courage during his fight against Multiple Sclerosis. He was an avid athlete.
Since his death, his family has awarded academic scholarships in his honor. Mt. Calvary Cemetary is located at 1400 S. Randolph St. Richmond, VA 222322. It is anticipated that there will be a large crowd.
It’s a very sad day for me today – Mike Clement my dear old friend and my guitar tech for the last 33 years Mike Clement died this morning. Mike was a really lovely man very loyal and I could depend on him hundred percent. He will be so missed by so many people and all the Sabbath members and the crews around the world. My deepest condolences go out to his family and his many friends.
