Janice Dean Career
Before beginning work for Fox News, Dean worked at several radio and television stations in Canada and the United States, including CHEZ-FM, and WCBS-TV.
Before starting her career in broadcasting, she was a Canadian Bylaw enforcement officer. In 2009, Dean’s application for the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval was granted. The Seal is not a meteorology certification.
Rather, it was launched in 1957 as a way to recognise on-air personalities for their sound delivery of weather information to the general public, and the AMS is no longer accepting applications for the Seal of Approval Program.
Dean wrote a series of Freddy the Frog caster children’s books. Her first book, Mostly Sunny: How I Learned to Keep Smiling Through the Rainiest Days, was released on March 5, 2019.
Her second book, Make Your Own Sunshine: Inspiring Stories of People Who Find Light in Dark Times, was released on March 2, 2021.

When her first symptoms arose, she took time off from her work. She was diagnosed with MS and has taken time off since then. She says that she is grateful for her early diagnosis and for the support of her family.
She is now taking injections to suppress the disease. She also hopes to participate in an MS Society fundraising walk in New York next month. Although Janice Dean is currently taking injections to fight the disease, her first symptoms began during hurricane season in 2005. Her doctors also found she had Lyme disease, which was not her original diagnosis.
She has been married before
The actress was engaged to another man in 2007 and met her future husband while on their honeymoon in Hawaii.
The couple, both newlyweds, had spent much of their time stressing over their Meteorology class. When they met, Dean had just arrived from a work trip, while her husband was preparing for a Master’s program.
Janice Dean married her firefighter husband, Sean Newman, in 2007. The couple has two children. Sean Newman is a firefighter and lives in New York City. They have been together for five years, and have two children together.
She also shared that she was grateful to her husband for helping her balance her work life and home life. Her husband took care of many of the household chores while she was on screen, but Sean was there for her.
