Currin, now a high school senior, has been acknowledged by Guinness World Records as the lady and teen with the world’s longest legs, at 6 feet, 10 inches tall. They account for 60% of her overall height.

Since published the news of her world-record-breaking limbs earlier this month, startling photographs of the girl standing head and shoulders above other people have drawn worldwide attention.
“It’s insane.” Currin, 17, who lives with her family in Cedar Park, Texas, told TODAY, “It’s transformed my whole life.”
“It’s a little intimidating, but I’d like to be able to inspire other tall individuals,” she says.

Currin was getting measured for a custom pair of leggings when she decided to apply for the record. When she realized her legs were longer than half of her body, she looked around to see who else was close. Currin then applied to Guinness World Records, which confirmed that she had beaten a Russian woman’s previous record holder.
According to the CDC, Currin’s legs are around 4 feet, 5 inches each, which is less than a foot less than the average total height for an adult woman in the United States, which is 5 feet, 3 inches.
Her colossal size has numerous practical ramifications in daily life. The adolescent will need to have custom-made jeans and other pants produced. She has a twin XL mattress in her room. Some automobiles won’t fit her, and she’ll have to “man spread” in others.

“Traditional aircraft chairs are awful,” she said. “And school desks are the very worst.”
Currin used to be bullied because of her height, but she says it no longer happens. “I’m not regular, and I don’t fit into the groups in high school, so I’m just there doing my own thing,” she said.
She used to play volleyball, but it took up too much of her time, so she now prefers to unwind and get away from her popularity by playing video games.
“People I know say things like, ‘Oh my God, you’re famous,’ but I don’t consider myself to be famous.” She explained, “I just see myself as a regular human being, as an ordinary 17-year-old.” Everyone else is shorter than you.

Most human height is determined by heredity, with just around 20% impacted by nutrition, health-care quality, and other environmental factors.

In preschool, she first noticed she was taller than the other kids. Currin stated she never had a growth spurt and routinely grew 4-5 inches per year.

She’s used to attracting attention, but she can feel annoyed when she keeps getting the same comments.
“There’s one thing that people say that irritates me. “Wow, you’re so tall!” they say, and Currin thinks to himself, “Wow, I didn’t realize that.”
She wants to travel, study business at an institution outside of the United States, and start modeling after graduating from high school.
For the time being, she hopes that her story may inspire others who don’t match the stereotype to feel good about themselves.
“I’d like to say to tall people, especially younger girls who are taller than most, that you’re one of a kind, and you’re one of a kind for a reason,” she said.
“You may not like it now, but as you get older, people will be interested in you, want to learn more about you, and love you for who you are.”
