Barber followed in his father’s footsteps and played college football for Minnesota Golden Gophers, becoming one of the greatest running back duos ever seen in Division I rushing history with Laurence Maroney forming one of the all-time greatest duos to collectively rush for 1000 yards for two consecutive seasons – both were All-Big Ten Conference selections that year as well as ranking fourth on their all-time rushing list with 3,2776 yards combined rushing. NFL Career

Barber was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of 2005 NFL Draft and spent six seasons as part of their roster, being named to one Pro Bowl and leading them in rushing touchdowns four times – notching 975 yards totaling during 2009.

Barber signed with the Chicago Bears in 2011, but only played one season before retiring from professional football. Throughout his NFL career, he had 4,780 rushing yards, 53 touchdowns rushing, 179 receptions (1.330 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns).

Personal Life and Death
