Real Madrid vs Juventus LONDON — In the end, it was big, if you will, money that got to the Champions League semifinals.
Real Madrid and Juventus won Wednesday’s match. They joined Barcelona and Bayern Munich in Friday’s draw for the last four. The final four have 21 titles between them in the Champions League and its predecessor the European Cup.
Tuesday was a day of goals in Munich, but Wednesday saw a lacklustre performance in Madrid. Real Madrid won its first win over Atletico with a single goal by Javier “Chicharito”, Hernandez just two minutes before the final.
Juventus won, as it often does, thanks to organized defence across the field and a penalty kick against Monaco.
While the defence is an important part of the sport, it was pragmatism that allowed Real Madrid and Juventus to win by a combined score of 1-0 after two difficult matches.
Real does not consider Hernandez a permanent employee.
Manchester United loaned him this season. He was only in his third game of 2015, and both Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema were hurt. His last kick of the contest saw him score his goal. He was rewarded for his persistence and continued to try to be Cristiano Ronaldo’s ultimate partner.
It was not the perfect pairing, at least until the score in the 88th minute. Ronaldo ignored Hernandez at times when Hernandez was running clear through. Both goals were missed at times, but Jan Oblak (Atletico’s young goalkeeper), was able to stop them with his exceptional decision-making and agility.
The breakthrough was made when Hernandez passed to Ronaldo. Hernandez said, “real Madrid vs Juventus It was a great help by Cristiano.” This was a team effort. “We all worked hard and played hard.
They did. Atletico, which had won seven of its previous matches against Real, was unbeaten this season. However, they ran out of energy, and there were no players left to defend them. After Arda Turan was sent to the stands for two yellow card offences, the first being a savage kick on Ronaldo’s heel early in the match and the second a tackle by Sergio Ramos which could have been considered a foul on either of the players.
Ramos, a central defensive defender, was chosen to play in midfield in order to stiffen Real’s strength. He raised his foot as high as Turan. Ramos, a central defender, was sent to the ground screaming in pain as he attempted to convince the German referee.
It worked. Referee Felix Brych sent Turan off and Real eventually won the extra man. However, Real won the victory. Real’s attack resulted in 23 shots to Atletico’s five.
The elbows thrown between the clubs were much more even. Many people, especially Americans, still don’t consider soccer a full sport due to the lack of upper-body contact. Real Madrid vs Juventus This was addressed in Wednesday’s play at Santiago Bernabeu, which featured countless illegal attacks using elbows, forearms and hands to disrupt the opponent.
Ronaldo did not hesitate to jump and place his shoulder in the direction of Jesus Gamez. This act could be interpreted as retaliation for Gamez’s actions throughout the game to contain Ronaldo.
Both coaches were ultimately successful in achieving their goals.
Real’s Carlo Ancelotti is a man who prefers the science of soccer to win. He knows that Real’s president Florentino Perez will fire him if Real doesn’t retain the Champions League trophy.
After the game, Diego Simeone, Atletico’s Coach, spoke of his pride in his team’s performance. He also mentioned how his modest club had done everything possible to make up the difference with Real, which is the wealthiest club on the planet.
Madrid is divided. Real’s coach tries to find the right mix after the president has acquired a wealth of individualistic players. Atletico’s coach, however, must make much less, using spoiler tactics when necessary.
What about Monaco? In Monaco?
Juventus will win the Italian Cup and Serie A this season, as no other Italian club can touch it. It is back in the Champions League semifinals for the first time in 12 years.
It used a tactical straightjacket against Monaco to suffocate a French team that had made this much progress largely due to its own defensive consolidation. real Madrid vs Juventus Juventus had won through Arturo Vidal’s penalty in Turin last Wednesday, and then it defended that win in southern France.
Patrice Evra, Juventus’s goalkeeper, was AWOL and Patrice Evra, his quick-witted defence intervention, was at least part of the defiance.
Juventus once again lent a hand to the victory. Giorgio Chiellini was the tough man in the Juventus defence. He dived to the ground and grabbed the ball with his hand to stop Joao Moutinho from scoring. Juventus considered the yellow card well-deserved.
