Stephanie Ruhle of MSNBC warns of a potential red wave in 2022
Red wave : Before the 2022 midterm elections, MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle issued a grave warning to Democrats.
“We’re more than a year away from the midterm elections, and Democrats are already facing an uphill battle,” Ruhle said in an interview on Tuesday.
“President Biden recently met with Eric Adams, the Democratic candidate for mayor of New York City, who ran a tough-on-crime campaign.
It comes at a time when cities across the country are experiencing a significant increase in violent crime.”
She went on to say, “Now, Republicans, such as former President Trump, are jumping on this and attempting to link Democrats’ “defund the cops” campaign to the rise in crime by arguing that this messaging is to blame.
With a razor-thin House majority and a tie in the Senate, it’s awful news for Democrats.”
Ruhle brought on political scientist Rachel Bitecofer, who correctly predicted a “blue wave” in 2018 and is now “raising the alarm” about a red one next year, according to Ruhle.
“What are the chances of a red wave if Democrats don’t fight back?” Ruhle enquired.
“They’re fantastic,” Bitecofer said.
The “midterm effect,” in which the opposite party of a sitting president obtains control of Congress, puts Republicans in a “excellent position,” according to Bitecofer.
Later, Ruhle gave Republicans a backhanded praise, saying they’re brilliant at “branding,” which is “irrelevant of what the truth is.”
