Riko Shibata: Nicolas Cage, 57, is “overjoyed” to be married once more.
Nicolas’s agent revealed to Hollywood Life that the National Treasure star is married for the sixth time to Riko Shibata, whom he married on February 16 at the Wynn Hotel.
It was a beautiful wedding, followed by a party that included Nicolas’s ex-wife-turned-friend, Alice Kim (with whom Nicolas shares his 15-year-old son Kal-El Coppola Cage).
It’s true, and we are very thrilled,” Nicolas stated in a statement to Hollywood Life in the wake of the wedding news.

Nicolas’s spokeswoman also stated that the wedding was “extremely modest and intimate,” with “standard Catholic and Shinto vows with poetry from Walt Whitman and Haiku sprinkled in.”
Following the announcement of the wonderful news on March 5, the couple was seen keeping the romance aluive by having a horse and carriage trip through Central Park.

On January 10, 2021, Riko turned 26 years old, making her 31 years younger than her new husband (who is 57 years old). According to the Daily Mail, Riko’s birthday is also the day she and Nicolas applied for their marriage license. Weston Coppola Cage, Nicolas’s 30-year-old son, is four years her junior.
Riko wore a Japanese bridal kimono for her wedding
According to Nicolas’s spokesman, Riko married Nicolas in a three-layer Japanese bridal kimono handcrafted in Kyoto. She wore a traditional kimono as she walked down the aisle to meet Nicolas while listening to her “favorite song,” Kiroro’s “Winter Song” (who was wearing a tuxedo from Tom Ford).

In August 2020, while appearing on his brother Marc Coppola’s radio show, Nicolas explained how he proposed to Riko. “We’re incredibly happy together, and we’re excited to spend that time together,” Nicolas told his brother, “so I finally just said, ‘Look, I want to marry you,’ and we got engaged on FaceTime.”
“I gave her a black diamond engagement ring,” Nicolas said of the item. She wanted black gold and a black diamond because black is her favorite color. I personalized and customized it, and I mailed it to her via FedEx.”
Riko and Nicolas have been together for almost a year
Nicolas’s rep told HollywoodLife, “The pair met in Shiga, Japan over a year ago.” Nicolas mentioned in his podcast conversation with his brother that Riko spent much of the outbreak in Japan.
During the August 2020 podcast, the future Tiger King TV series star said, “She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada, and I haven’t seen her in 6 months.”
According to the Daily Mail, they were first seen together in New Orleans in February 2020. In March of 2020, I caught them holding hands in New York City, just weeks before the pandemic shut down the world (you can see this photo above).
