Sub Zero Mortal Kombat: The Warrior, Cryomancer, Grandmaster, and Defender of Earthrealm from Mortal Kombat, has a long history of heroic actions.

Sub-Zero is the most popular Mortal Kombat character, with his own spinoff game Mortal Kombat Mythologies: Sub-Zero. Sub-Zero is one of the few characters to feature in every game, and he has a devoted fanbase who are looking forward to seeing him in the live-action film in 2021.

10 Heroic Acts of Sub Zero Mortal Kombat

Sub Zero Mortal Kombat

Unfortunately, Sub-Zero was cast as a villain and a henchman in the Mortal Kombat film. While this may have been acceptable to newcomers to the genre, this character decision is largely at variance with his portrayal in the games’ lore and storey: a stalwart, if aloof, defender of Earthrealm. Aside from the violence and deaths, Sub-Zero has shown himself to be a hero on numerous occasions throughout the series.

1. Sareena is being spared.

One of the causes for Sub-misunderstandings Zero’s could be due to the title’s very first holder: Bi-Han. Bi-Han was a stern and cruel warrior, unlike his younger brother and successor, Kuai Liang. As the older Sub-Zero, his primary commitment was to the Lin Kuei clan and its goals, which he dutifully accomplished.

During the events of Mythologies: Sub-Zero, his lone act of goodwill may have been sparing the Netherrealm demon Sareena. Sareena’s survival was crucial in Sub-Zero defeating the sorcerer Quan Chi and retrieving the amulet of Shinnok, for which no precise explanation was ever stated. Unfortunately, Bi-bravery Han’s was not enough to rescue him from being killed by Scorpion and transformed into something even more dark and lethal.

2. Bringing Bi-Han back to life

Noob Saibot, a black-clad ninja with no past, first appeared in Mortal Kombat II as a secret opponent with no narrative. His subsequent appearances added to the mystery surrounding his storey. His actual identity as a revived Bi-Han was not revealed until Mortal Kombat: Deception. He delighted in his new abilities and severed links with his former life, especially Kuai Liang, the new Sub-Zero.

Kuai Liang fought the titan Kronika and gained power over time in his Mortal Kombat 11 ending. In order to redeem Bi-Han, he combed through his history, resulting in the brothers becoming joint Grandmasters of the rebuilt Lin Kuei in defence of Earthrealm. Because Liu Kang’s narrative mode ends with a new past, it’s unclear whether Bi-history Han’s will repeat itself.

3. Becoming a member of the Justice League

The sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us, Injustice 2 continued the storey of Batman’s resistance against Superman’s government. Sub-Zero and Raiden were added as downloadable guest combatants because it was also produced by NeatherRealm Studios. Although Sub-debut Zero’s isn’t canon, it does result in a thrilling conclusion when he defeats Brainiac in his arcade mode finale.

Following Sub-defeat Zero’s of Brainiac, Batman offered the Justice League his help in returning him to his universe in exchange for training their youngest members in battle. When magic mistakenly freed the villainous Superman and his minions from the Phantom Zone, his membership in the Justice League became even more established. Sub-Zero becoming a member of the Justice League is a fantastic concept.

4. Special Forces Training

Even after becoming the commander of the Lin Kuei, Sub-Zero remained slow to join the fight against the other kingdoms. During the events of Mortal Kombat X, Cassie Cage and her squad decided to infiltrate the Lin Kuei temple in the arctic. They were mercilessly destroyed by Sub-Zero and his clan, who took advantage of their inexperience.

Sub-Zero and Johnny Cage, the team’s commander, orchestrated the entire event as a training exercise. Sub-Zero reprimanded the team for their lack of coordination, but acknowledged their promise. When he fought alongside the team during the game’s conclusion against Outworld invaders, the training paid off, and he praised them for their bravery.

5. Providing Sareena with a safe haven

Sarenna’s appearance in Sub-Zero was not the last time she appeared in the novel. Mortal Kombat: Tournament Edition, the Game Boy Advance companion title to Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, included her as a playable character. It retconned her fate from Mythologies: Sub-Zero, in which she did not die but rather lost her human form before making her way into Outworld.

She ran into Kuai Liang, who knew her from Bi-stories. Han’s Kuai Liang promised her asylum with the Lin Kuei at their temple in exchange for her assistance to his brother. Given Sareena’s lineage, it was a significant risk, but his faith was not misplaced; Sareena remained true to her world and promised to safeguard the clan.

6. Smoke Elimination

Smoke, like Noob Saibot, debuted as a hidden opponent in Mortal Kombat II. He was made playable in Mortal Kombat 3 and was a friend of Sub-Zero who fell victim to Lin Kuei’s cyber effort. Smoke was one of the cyborgs dispatched to kill Sub-Zero when he escaped.

Rather than killing his companion, Sub-Zero detected the human essence trapped inside the machine and assisted Smoke in breaking free. He did it again later in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, when he released Smoke from the thrall of Noob Saibot. Sub-sympathy Zero’s and friendship with Smoke demonstrated that, despite Lin Kuei’s prohibition on attachments, he was a kind soul at heart.

7. Cyrax’s Liberation and Acceptance

Mortal Kombat (2011), as a relaunch of the series with a new timeframe, built on the characters in ways that the original arcade games couldn’t. Cyrax is one of these individuals, and his sorrow as a man trapped in a machine was developed out in his storey. He was an ardent opponent of the cyber project from the outset, and he quit the clan on Raiden’s advise.

Unfortunately, he was captured and converted, and he remained Sektor’s lackey. In Mortal Kombat 11, Sub-Zero liberated Cyrax, who was horrified by what he had become and sacrificed himself to stop Sektor’s plans. Sub-Zero nobly declared that Cyrax had a place in the Lin Kuei regardless of whether he was a man or a machine, and Cyrax implored Sub-Zero not to bring him back as a machine.

8. In The Outworld Tournament, He Saves His Opponent

Character bios and endings were used to tell the narrative in the original Mortal Kombat arcade games. These ways of narrative established the second Sub-Zero and revealed that he spared an opponent during Mortal Kombat II’s events. Sub-humanity Zero’s was thus displayed, immediately distinguishing him from the earlier Sub-Zero, who entered the inaugural tournament in order to eliminate the manipulating sorcerer Shang Tsung.

Scorpion witnessed this act of goodwill and concluded it wasn’t the same Sub-Zero he murdered in the first tournament. When Shao Khan invaded Earthrealm in Mortal Kombat 3, Scorpion sided with the forces of good to protect Sub-Zero. It wasn’t the first time the two enemies fought together and put their differences aside.

9. To protect Earthrealm, the Lin Kuei is being reformed.

The Lin Kuei was a merciless clan of assassins who served the highest bidder, regardless of their alignment, in most games. As shown in Mythologies: Sub-Zero and Mortal Kombat, they worked for their own benefit, even if it meant putting Earthrealm in jeopardy (2011). Lin Kuei’s decline was further demonstrated by his cyber project and alliance with Shao Khan.

When Sub-Zero beat Sektor and became the new Grandmaster of the Lin Kuei in both the original and rebooted realities, he made significant alterations to the Lin Kuei. He moved the tribe to the arctic, where he transformed them from brutal mercenaries to honourable warriors. Despite their reclusive character, other groups such as the Special Forces, Shaolin, and Shirai Ryu found the new Lin Kuei to be vital allies in the defence of Earthrealm.

10. Getting Along With Scorpion

Within Mortal Kombat, the rivalry between Sub-Zero and Scorpion is legendary. Because of the animosity between the Lin Kui and Shirai Ryu clans, the two are always at odds with each other. This rivalry was crucial to the franchise’s marketing, and it even extended to spinoffs like the animated Mortal Kombat flicks and the upcoming Mortal Kombat feature in 2021.

After the truth of Lin Kuei’s cooperation with Quan Chi in killing Scorpion’s family was revealed in Mortal Kombat X, Sub-Zero extended an olive branch to Scorpion and made peace. When Scorpion aided Sub-Zero in taking down Sektor in Mortal Kombat 11, and the two fought together in the game’s climax, this alliance got a chance to flourish.
