Triple H is an American professional wrestler and actor whose combined Triple H Net Worth totals $150 million. This figure includes his marriage to WWE heiress Stephanie McMahon, also known as Hunter Hearst Helmsley or “Triple H”. Since 2013, Triple H has served as Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events, and Creative at WWE; he also founded NXT, an offshoot brand of WWE. Stephanie McMahon is the daughter of Vince McMahon who founded NXT in 2013.
Early Life
Triple H was born Paul Michael Levesque on July 27, 1969, in Nashua, New Hampshire. His first wrestling match ever witnessed was in 1974 featuring Chief Jay Strongbow and he went on to play baseball and basketball at Nashua South High School. At 14, he began bodybuilding to look like the professional wrestlers he saw on television. After graduating from high school in 1987, he continued entering bodybuilding competitions until 1988 when he won Mr.
Teenage New Hampshire at 19 years old. He worked as the manager of a gym in Nashua when he met world champion Ted Arcidid, who happened to be working for WWE at that time.
Triple H persuaded him to introduce him to Killer Kowalski – an ex-wrestler running a pro wrestling school in Massachusetts at that time. In 1992, Levesque moved to Malden, Massachusetts, and enrolled at Killer Kowalski’s school where his classmates included future WWF legend Chyna.
Career
Triple H made his professional wrestling debut in 1992 against Flying Tony Roy as Terra Ryzing. He easily defeated Tony Roy and went on to defeat Mad Dog Richard to capture the IWF Heavyweight Championship that summer.
In 1994 he signed a one-year contract with World Championship Wrestling, playing Terror Risin’ in his initial televised match which ended with him defeating Keith Cole. Subsequently, he changed to Terra Ryzing which he used until changing it back to Jean-Paul Levesque; speaking with a French accent as part of character development.
Vince McMahon initially declined Levesque’s offer to join his league, but after watching Levesque’s match at Starrcade a few weeks later, McMahon became sufficiently impressed and made him an offer – leading to Levesque joining WWE in January 1995.
Triple H made his WWE debut as Hunter Hearst Helmsley through taped vignettes explaining proper etiquette. Helmsley made his WWF pay-per-view debut at SummerSlam where he defeated Bob Holly for the championship title.
In 1996, Helmsley’s career took an unfortunate turn after a feud with Duke “The Dumpster” Droese at the 1996 Royal Rumble. In 1997, Helmsley won the King of the Ring tournament by defeating Mankind in the finals; later that year Shawn Michaels, Helmsley, Chyna, and Rick Rude formed D-Generation X (DX), known for pushing boundaries during their “Attitude Era” of 1990s wrestling. During this period his ring name was reduced to simply Triple H for shortening to simply Triple H instead.
Triple H has headlined several major WWE pay-per-view events, including closing out WrestleMania seven times (tied with Hulk Hogan for most times).
By January 2000, Triple H had earned himself the nickname “The Game,” signifying his place at the top of the wrestling world and being nicknamed “The Cerebral Assassin.” On January 3 of Raw Is War, he defeated Big Show to secure his third WWF Championship.
Unfortunately, in May 20011 a tear in his quad muscle nearly cost him his career; thus, he had been out of work for eight months until 2002 when he returned to work at Madison Square Garden winning both the Royal Rumble and receiving an Undisputed WWF Championship match at WrestleMania X8 where Triple H held onto that title until Hulk Hogan finally beat him for it.
In February 2003, Triple H formed a stable known as Evolution with Ric Flair, Randy Orton, and Batista. They challenged Rob Van Dam and Kane for the World Tag Team Championship but lost. From 2003 until 2004, Evolution’s dominance on Raw was unstoppable as each member left each pay-per-view holding their respective titles.
At WrestleMania XIX in an angle with racist undertones, Triple H held onto his World Heavyweight Championship until September 2003 when Goldberg finally defeated him in Unforgiven under conditions such that had Goldberg won, Goldberg would have had to retire – though ultimately Goldberg would come out victorious in this match that required retirement from wrestling altogether
Championships
Triple H has achieved great success throughout his career, winning several championships such as:
5-time Intercontinental Champion
3-time World Tag Team Champions
2-time European Champion
14-time world champion
2-time Royal Rumble Winner
King of the Ring.
After WWE Triple H Net Worth
Nowadays, Triple H works behind the scenes at WWE, founding NXT as a developmental branch and earning praise for his business acumen in professional wrestling.
In an interview about life behind the scenes at WWE, Triple H likened their company to Disney. He said: “We are entertainment… not just one-dimensional. Think back 10 years ago when Marvel wasn’t even in comic books yet – now we are and will remain a growing global content provider for all kinds of entertainment.”
Personal Life
Triple H married Stephanie McMahon, daughter of WWE owner Vince McMahon on October 25, 2003. Together they have three daughters: Aurora Rose Levesque (born 2006), Murphy Claire Levesque (born 2008), and Vaughn Evelyn Levesque (born 2010).
He was previously married to the legendary wrestler Chyna from 1996 until 2000.
In 2004, Levesque published Making the Game: Triple H’s Approach to a Better Body. While primarily providing bodybuilding advice, this book also includes some autobiographical material, memoirs and opinions.
Levesque was an avid fan of Motorhead and close friends with lead singer Lemmy.
Salary and WWE Equity
In 2013, Levesque took on a new role as Executive Vice President of Talent, Live Events, and Creative. That year he earned a combined salary of just over $1.5 million from both his front-office job as Executive Vice President as well as being an accomplished wrestler. Recently, Triple H’s WWE annual salary amounted to an impressive $2.8 million annually.
He owns several million dollars worth of WWE stock. More significantly, Triple H’s wife Stephanie owns around 2.5 million shares in WWE which have recently been valued between $40 million and $225 million.
