“We have to do more,” Adams said. Adams pledged that he would fight the crime and violence caused by guns, as well improve relations between communities of color.
Wilbert Mora was 27, and had been a member of the NYPD for three years. During his time on the force, he made 33 arrests. Five organs were also donat to help save lives.

The funeral for Mora preced by a line of motorcycle officers. Mora’s badge number, 15918 was adorn with a floral arrangement.
Mora was a three-time hero, according to New York City Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell. He was also an organ donor, which helped save five lives. LiveOnNY estimates that over 7,000 New Yorkers are currently waiting for organs.
Mora worked as a police officer in New York City for four years. He joined the department in October 2018. 33 arrests made during his tenure on the police force. His demise has sparked significant discussions on domestic violence, the police-neighborhood relationship, gun safety and other topics.
Eric Adams was also present. Although he considered Mora’s loss a tragedy, Adams also discussed his work to fight street crime.

Mora is a John Jay College of Criminal Justice graduate. Mora was assigne to Harlem’s 32nd Precinct. He was an avid student throughout his tenure on the force and was interest in improving relationships between neighborhoods and police.
