On this week’s “Life, Liberty & Levin,” host Mark Levin was questioned by Pete Hegseth of “Fox & Friends Weekend” about his new book “American Marxism,”
And how it serves as a warning for what could happen under President Joe Biden and the Democrat majority in Congress.
Levin, a former president of the Landmark Legal Foundation in Leesburg, Va., and a Reagan Justice Department official.
Believes Marxism has survived as a far-left theory more than a century after its namesake’s death because it appeals to those who want to blame others for their problems.
“This is something I’ve thought about and touched on throughout the book. Karl Marx has been the subject of numerous publications “He expressed himself.
I believe this is due to a number of factors
“People who do not take responsibility for their own lives,” Levin remarked, are one category Marxism appeals to.
“As a result, they may point the finger at the rest of the world. They can be seen as victims, downtrodden, or oppressors in their own right “According to Levin,
“Personal responsibility and accountability aren’t really an issue for them. They don’t have any actual societal ties.”
Because these people don’t feel compelled to contribute to society, Levin believes that a political ideology based on stealing resources from producers and distributing them to others will appeal to them.
“As a result, successful people must be degraded. Sadness is necessary for joyful people.
“People who are productive need to be less productive,” he remarked, describing the end consequence as “total annihilation.””
Marxism may also be evident in the Democrats’ efforts to desecrate public monuments and remove historical personalities from school curricula, according to Levin.
Marx felt that history begins “now” and that “rejecting past history” is the key to achieving a supposedly just society.
“It’s all anti-humanism at its most basic level. Today is the start of the world “said the Fox News host.
The “fanatics” and people who desire power are the second major type of supporters to American Marxism, according to Levin, who must suppress individual liberty in order to govern individuals.
“This is a group of devilish individuals. Other than our mouthpieces on television and radio, many of them are tenured professors “He expressed himself.
“Some of them were elected from Vermont,” a veiled dig at Socialist Senator Bernie Sanders.
Despite failures such as the Soviet Union, Levin points out that American Marxists, particularly those on campuses, argue that “genuine” or “true” Marxism or socialism has never been tried.
“Despite all the evidence of how horrible and inhumane Marxism and its offshoots have been – 100 million dead and God knows how many billions enslaved – it just wasn’t done the proper way,” Levin remarked.
