In one of her memoirs, she said that she married Doo “when I was just a child” and that he would be my whole life. My childhood and upbringing are important, but there was something that kept me connected to Doo.
He believed I was unique and more unique than anyone else on the planet. It was something he never let go of. It would be hard to shake that notion. Doo was my safety net and my security. Don’t forget, I’m not exonerating, but explaining.
Doo was a nice guy and worked hard. However, he was an alcoholic and this had a long-lasting impact on our marriage. Loretta Lynn and Oliver Lynn share six children. However, two of their children died. It is also unfathomable that a parent would experience the death or incapacity of a child.
