The modern TV landscape is vast, claim to fame with many options for streaming, cable, and network television. These are the specials, movies, and shows that will be on TV this week (September 5-11). All details and times are subject to change.
Monday
Comedy Central airs OUT OF THE OFFICE (2022) at 8 p.m. Although this film is not a documentary and is scripted, it could be considered one. It focuses on something many people have experienced for the past two years: the blurring between work and personal boundaries when working from home. The film was created by producers of “The Office” and stars Ken Jeong, Leslie Jones (Jay Pharoah), Paul F. Tompkins (to name a few) and Oscar Nunez (to name a few). Each character is shown as they experience the “new normal”, which involves working in the same place they live.
Real Girlfriends in Paris 9:15 pm on Bravo This reality series is like “Emily in Paris”, but with real people. Six young American women live in Paris and focus on their relationships, careers, and friendships. You can expect stunning views of Paris, many date nights, and lots of luxury shopping.
CNN 10:20 p.m. NO ORDINARY LIFE (2022). Although on-camera personalities are often the stars, this documentary is about five women behind it: Jane Evans, Maria Fleet and Margaret Moth, as well as Cynde Strand, Mary Rogers and Mary Rogers. . Heather O’Neill, a CNN alum, used behind-the scenes footage and archival interviews in order to create a picture of their careers over the decades. Christiane Amanpour, a CNN anchor, is featured in describing the aftermath of Moth’s shooting in Sarajevo by a sniper while she was on the job in 1992.
Tuesday
claim to fame PBS 9 p.m. (check your local listings) LIES, POLITICS and DEMOCRACY This documentary special of two hours, also Frontline’s season premiere, features Michael Kirk, a filmmaker, who examines the fragility and the misinformation surrounding the 2020 presidential elections. It culminates in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol Riot. This documentary comes at a time when primaries for the midterm elections in 2022 are underway.
claim to fame 10 p.m. ABC The show’s new format features contestants who are related to celebrities. Other contestants have to guess which celebrity is related for a chance to win $100,000. The show is hosted by Kevin and Frankie Jonas, two celebrities who are also relatives to the Jonas Brothers. This week’s episode will reveal all contestants’ identities. However, the eliminated contestants include Chuck Norris’s grandson, Simone Biles’s sister, and LaverneCox’s twin.
Wednesday
CNBC’s JAY LENO’S GATE 10 p.m. Jay Leno’s talk and car show returns for eight episodes on CNBC. But this season, there is a twist. Only electric vehicles or alternative fuels are featured. The show will continue to be celebrity-filled with Brie Larson and Pitbull, Kelly Clarkson, Pitbull, James Marsden, Pitbull, and Kelly Clarkson. Elon Musk will also make an appearance.
Thursday
DEAD RECKONING (1947), 8 p.m. TCM This film noir mystery follows the story of Rip Murphy (Humphrey Bogart), and Jonny Drake, (William Prince), as they travel to Washington D.C. to receive highest honors for military service. Jonny leaps from the train in an attempt to avoid being photographed and is later found dead. Murdock suspects foul play, and tries to solve this mystery. However, Coral Chandler (Lizabeth Scott), is a stumbling block.
The CON 10 p.m. ABC. A pastor from a small town stole $40 million from his investors and wrote a suicide note before jumping on a ferry to Fort Myers. One mom made fake coupons for her children to use in stores. These are just a few stories of con artists told in the docuseries. It is narrated and hosted by Whoopi Goldberg. The final episode of the second season tells the story of a man who was arrested for pretending to be a doctor but was able to open his own medical practice.
Friday
claim to fame CMT CAMPFIRE SESSIONS 10.30 p.m. After the second season of star-studded performances by country music stars, this cozy series will be ending. They will now get together to sing their favourite covers.
Saturday
FXX 8 p.m. CREATIVE ALMY EMMY AWARDS Although these awards were not given out on Saturday, viewers can view a condensed and edited version of the two-day event. Judd Apatow and Ashley Nicole Black were among the presenters. RuPaul Charles and the “Queer Eye‘ cast are also included. The Creative Arts Emmys are a celebration of technical and logistical excellence in television. They include awards for outstanding period costumes, exceptional stunt performances and outstanding main titles design.
Sunday
AMERICAN GIGOLO at 9 p.m., Showtime This new version of the film, starring Jon Bernthal (who was played by Richard Gere) is beginning its first season. The series starts 15 years after the film ended when Julian is exonerated of wrongful murder and released from prison. He leaves behind his past and reconnects with his mother, his ex-lover and Detective Sunday (Rosie O’Donnell), to discover the truth behind the murder.
