Stranger Things shows the Surfer Boy Pizza number and connects to an Easter egg recording by Argyle (Eduardo Franco).
After Jonathan Byers moves to California, the stoner character is made best friends with Charlie Heaton (Charlie Heaton). Argyle, who works at Surfer Boy Pizza, borrows the van of the company to rescue Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), with Will Byers and Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard).
The van’s side shows the phone number 805-45 – pizza (or 805-457-4992) throughout the fourth season. This actually connects to a prerecorded message when dialled.
NME confirms that Argyle answers call by introducing himself before he puts you on hold to explain a complex order to a coworker.
Argyle writes in the message: “Brochacos. I just received another order before that dude was on hold. It’s super specific like weird specific. Are you ready? It must be six inches thick and super yellow. I don’t know, don’t ask me, man. They said that. Then we had to add the red sauce just above the crust. So don’t go over.
“The next thing they want, and it is very important, are four pieces of white mozzarella, three habaneros nice, bright orange, and two green pepper slices. Gotta let the habanero sing man. Then, one piece of blue cheese was added on top. It’s odd, I know. Blue cheese is very close to mould. Have you ever tried blue cheese? You should try it before you say no. Okay, that’s it. Did you receive the order? Yeah, cool.”
Argyle briefly then returns to the phone to say thank you for your patience, before he hangs up.
Although it is not clear if this is connected to Stranger Things’ fifth and final seasons, fans were able to call Murray Bauman (Brett Gelman), who then revealed that he had been trying to call Joyce Byers(Winona Ryder).
As part of Upside Down Pictures, show creators Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer are currently working on a spinoff and stage play that will be based on the Netflix series.
