Texas Abortion Law: According to the Associated Press, Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, said Saturday that she feels the Texas law prohibiting most abortions, which went into effect last month, is “extreme, inhumane, and unconstitutional.”

Collins also stated his support for Roe v. Wade as the “law of the land.” In 1973, Roe v. Wade, a historic judgement, legalised abortion across the United States.
Collins, a centrist, isn’t the first to express support for something that many conservatives have rejected for decades.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Collins remarked in September, “I support codifying Roe.”
“Regrettably, the bill… goes far beyond that. It would significantly undermine the current law’s conscious exceptions.”
Collins was alluding to a bill in Congress sponsored by Democrats that would help secure abortion access in all 50 states. Collins was against the bill.
Collins’ remarks came as the inaugural Women’s March of President Joe Biden’s presidency took place before the Supreme Court in Washington, D.C.
