Development
On December 20th, 2019 the film was officially announced as an untitled romantic comedy. Initially, its release date was set for 26 March 2021 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic it was moved up a week to 18 March 2022; then again on 26 January 2023 to coincide with Indian Republic Day (27 January). Finally, 8 March 2023 was chosen in accordance with Holi festival celebrations.

Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor have been cast as the leads, marking their first project together. Dimple Kapadia and producer Boney Kapoor (in his acting debut) will play Ranbir’s parents. Additionally, stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi makes his acting debut and Hindi film debut actress Monica Chaudhary makes her Hindi film debut. Hasleen Kaur will join Ranbir and Shraddha in January 2023 for this project.
Filming
Principal photography began on January 8, 2021 in Ghaziabad with Ranbir and Shraddha. On July 1st, the second schedule began in Delhi followed by another three schedules beginning August 1st in Mumbai followed by yet another schedule November 2021 back in Delhi. Finally, March 1st 2022 saw another Mumbai schedule before continuing onto Spain/Mauritius by June of that year.
In July 2022, Shraddha Kapoor’s song was to be shot but production was put on hold when a fire broke out at the set in Chitrakoot Grounds, Andheri. Unfortunately, one crew member named Manish Devashi died and another man from the lighting department sustained injury. Nevertheless, shooting continued for several days until August 2022 when production finally concluded.
