Macey, Inc Story
In Rose Park, Utah, Walt Macey and Dale A. Jones founded the “Save-A-Nickel-Market” in 1947. Macey’s has grown from a single store to a multi-location chain by giving individualised service and real old-fashioned friendliness. Thousands of Utah families continued to visit Macey’s after Associated Food Stores purchased it in 1999 for a great deal on groceries and a tasty soft-serve ice cream cone.
For those courageous enough to taste it, the now-famous Kong Kone, a soft-serve ice cream that stands about a foot tall, is one of the most talked-about delights among ice cream fans worldwide. Providence, Ogden, West Jordan, Sandy, Murray, Holladay, Orem, Provo, Spanish Fork, Lehi, Pleasant Grove, Highland, Tooele and Olympus Hills, Santaquin and Taylorsville are now served by Macey’s!
