According to statements by the restaurant and Miami Dade Fire Rescue, (MDFR), at least 10 people were hurt in a shooting that took place outside a Miami Gardens restaurant where French Montana was filming a music video.
“Our hearts are heavy, and we go out to the victims,” The Licking, a chain of restaurants owned by DJ Khaled, stated in a statement to CNN.
“We didn’t know a video was being shot and discovered that French Montana was filming a scene in the back lot. The statement stated that we have no idea what happened. “The Licking restaurant is not involved in the incident and has provided the required footage to police.”
CNN reached out to Miami Gardens Police in order to get more information about the shooting investigation.
MDFR reports that emergency units were dispatched shortly before 8 PM ET when they received reports about a mass casualty incident.
“Fire units arrived to find several victims with traumatic injuries. Firefighters found injured patients at the first location and also discovered other patients nearby,” emergency officials stated.
According to MDFR, “Fire crews immediately started triage to assess and transport the patients to the hospital.” Ten patients sustained injuries as a result. Four patients were self-transported by MDFR to local hospitals. MDFR transported 6 of the patients via air and ground rescue to local trauma centers.
“Last night I was in Miami to celebrate the release of my mixtape on CB6 with friends at a local eatery. Unfortunately, we were in the wrong place at the wrong time when an accident occurred that caused people to be hurt. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims and their loved ones.
