Yoruichi Shihoin is a classic character in Tite Kubo’s Shonen action series Bleach. Here’s something you probably didn’t know.
We encounter a diverse and colourful group of characters in Tite Kubo’s Shonen action manga Bleach. This series includes a large cast of heroes, villains, and everything in between, but Yoruichi Shihoin, a rogue Soul Reaper and ninja master, is one of our favourite classic characters.
Do You Know 10 Essential Facts About Yoruichi Shihouin Bleach
We first saw her in Karakura Town, when she took on the appearance of a black cat and spoke in a manly tone. Then, together with the spectator, Ichigo and the viewer saw her actual form: an athletic woman with considerable combat skills. Yoruichi has shown to be an invaluable partner in the fight against evil, and she’s also a lot of fun to watch on screen. What are ten facts that sum up Yoruichi Shihoin’s essence?
1. She’s Obsessed With Cats.
Yoruichi is a black housecat with a male voice in this form. Yoruichi’s rogueish and athletic concept is already established, but there’s more to it. She’s a kitten in a few ways, even as a grown woman.
Yoruichi’s hair had flattened cat ears during her Captaincy, and she wore a small ribbon around her neck as a collar. Not only that, but she preferred to nap and go about her business until she was confronted with a problem. Don’t forget about her erratic, playful side, though.
2. Kisuke was saved from a terrible fate thanks to her.
We met both Kisuke and Yoruichi in the living world at around the same time for a reason: they are both outcasts. Because of his hollowfication experiments (which Aizen stole), Kisuke abandoned the Soul Society, and Yoruichi committed a big crime to aid him in his escape.
There Kisuke was, facing his doom in Central 46, when Yoruichi broke in and stole Kisuke before anyone could intervene. She’s the world’s fastest woman, and her strategy worked. Even if it meant jeopardising Yoruichi’s good position in the Soul Society!
3. She Is Unofficially Byakuya’s Rival
In contrast to many Shonen characters who are driven by violent rivalries, Captain Byakuya Kuchiki isn’t the kind to have a rival. Regardless, he has a history of feuding with Yoruichi, both past and present.
Yoruichi visited the Kuchiki home for fun a while ago, before her exile, and mocked Byakuya (who was a hot-headed teenager at the time). Yoruichi chose Ichigo’s side against Byakuya in the present, demonstrating that she was still the speedier of the two. After that, Byakuya had to be seething.
4. She has a thing for certain things.
Yoruichi isn’t a scientist or a weapons expert, but she knows how to pick the correct instruments for the job. Rather than inventing them, like Kisuke would, she locates them, with or without the agreement of the owner.
She possessed a strange, one-winged item that she and Ichigo used to withdraw into cover, and she also employed a test dummy to assist Ichigo practise and master bankai in a remarkably short amount of time. How did she manage to get her hands on that? It’s a closely guarded secret!
5. Soi Fon looks up to her.
Yoruichi and Soi Fon are shown together in this fan art for a purpose. These two ladies fight in the later episodes of the Soul Society narrative, and we find that Yoruichi was Soi Fon’s tutor and a mother figure to her.
When Yoruichi vanished, Soi Fon was upset and couldn’t understand why he had been abandoned. Soi Fon was enraged, but the hatred dissipated over time, and Yoruichi and her old student reunited. That’s fantastic news!
6. She Is Noblesse
Yoruichi may not seem or behave like it, but she was born into the Shihoin family, one of the four great noble houses of the Soul Society. We saw her in a gorgeous kimono in flashbacks, and she looked like a princess. She was very attractive.
7. She grew up with her childhood friends, in fact. Kisu
After that, ke and Tessai went their separate ways. What’s amusing about Yoruichi is that she’s a total knucklehead outside of battle, in stark contrast to the aristocratic Byakuya Kuchiki. Byakuya, on the other hand, would never look down on her.
8. Erves as a source of comic relief.
Yoruichi isn’t simply a one-dimensional character; that would be cheap, and as we get to know her, we learn she’s a really cool person. Even yet, Bleach likes to have a good time now and then, and Yoruichi is the first to let off steam.
In her cat shape, she joined Ichigo in the bath… only to shift into her adult form and frighten him! This is how she teases people endlessly, and it’s hilarious. Yoruichi later ate ten meals’ worth of food like a machine after defeating the arrancars, barely blinking. Whew!
9. Shunko was created by her.
Yoruichi is a martial arts specialist, but she doesn’t have to fight with her bare knuckles any longer. Yoruichi even created Shunko, a kido/melee hybrid that emerges on the body as wind or lightning power. It has the ability to greatly boost the user’s power and even fire remotely.
Soi Fon can also use it, although her version is based on wind, whereas Yoruichi’s is based on lightning. When Yoruichi fought the Sternritter, which gave her cat-like traits like ears and paws, she showed off an even more sophisticated form of Shunko.
10. She’s an astute leader.
Yoruichi is not only a funny guy, but also a good buddy and martial artist. After all, she was previously the Captain of Squad 2, and holding a position like that requires a true leader.
Not only that, but Yoruichi knows the Soul Society well and out, and she was able to sneak around with Ichigo to help him complete his goal without being discovered. She also knew just how to increase Ichigo, Orihime, and Chad’s skills, and she could get herself out of almost any dangerous scenario.
